PM: This case of death must assure us that there can be no compromise in this fight and the severity of the steps is not someone's wish

This case of death must assure us that there can be no compromise in this fight and the severity of the steps is not someone's wish, it is a tragic necessity that each of us must follow, - Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia told reporters.

He said that all citizens should understand that we are responsible for the elderly and the death case is alarming. The Prime Minister did not rule out that the restrictions would be further tightened.

"As of today, we have 157 infected people. 9 of them are new cases, 1 of which is in Adjara and we have unfortunately 1 dead. She was an older woman from the Bolnisi cluster, a 79-year-old woman with concomitant chronic diseases. Our doctors did everything to save her life, but unfortunately, this is a tragic case and we are taking strict steps to minimize such cases.

I want to stress that this case must assure us that there can be no compromise in this fight and the severity of the steps is not someone's wish, it is a tragic necessity that each of us must follow.

There will be no compromise when it comes to people’s lives. If further measures are needed, we will take them,” Gakharia said.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.
