Holy Fire to be handed over to two Georgian clergy on board, without them leaving plane

The holy fire will be delivered to the Holy Trinity Cathedral on the Easter night after 23:00. Tsisana Gemazashvili, Director of Pilgrim Tours, told reporters at the Holy Trinity Cathedral that she would travel to Israel together with two clerics.

According to her, the Holy Fire will be handed over to the clergy by a representative of the Georgian Embassy at the airport.

"It will be different this year. Only two clergymen and I will travel to Israel. A representative of the embassy will bring the fire to the plane.

We do not have the right to leave the plane. The plane will land at Tbilisi International Airport at 23:15,” Gemazashvili said.

According to her, some Georgian citizens will be brought from Israel by the same plane.

"We will bring our compatriots back to the country. The plane should land at Tbilisi airport by 23:15 and we will go directly to the Trinity Cathedral,” Gemazashvili said.
