Minister of Health denies reports about lack of medical staff in regions

The Minister of Health denied reports that there is a lack of medical staff in the regions, where doctors have been infected.

She said that the country had enough resources of medical staff.

As for the infection of doctors, as Ekaterine Tikaradze explained, in most cases, they were infected not in the workplace.

"We provide all clinics with personal protective equipment. In addition, we have developed a strategy for all the institutions that need respiratory equipment and we supply them step by step with the necessary equipment.

As for the infection of doctors, the important fact is that, in most cases, they were infected not in the workplace. We train doctors on the proper use of personal protective equipment and we are now tightening measures in this regard. We are also examining in detail the deficiencies that led to their infection.

I do not confirm that there is a shortage of doctors at this stage. We have enough resources of medical staff and we can send them to the regions, where doctors have been infected, "- said Tikaradze.
