Aslan Bzhania: Products worth billions of rubles are exported from Abkhazia to Georgia and it is necessary to establish full control over the “state borders”

Aslan Bzhania, the de facto President of occupied Abkhazia, says that "products worth billions of rubles are exported from Abkhazia to Georgia and it is necessary to establish full control over the state borders."

"Products worth billions of rubles are exported from Abkhazia to Georgia. According to our Customs Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture, the volume of hazelnut harvest per year is 11-12 thousand tons. A maximum of 10% of this volume is exported to Russia and the rest goes to Georgia, and all this money goes into the pockets of people who are generally involved in smuggling,” Bzhania said.

According to him, it is necessary to review the approaches to this issue and to establish full control over the so-called state borders.
