Davit Bakradze: The government chose an absolutely wrong path and we now have expensive products, expensive life

The government chose an absolutely wrong path. He promised the population that it would spend money to maintain prices and we all saw that it failed and we now have expensive products, expensive life, vulnerable population and economy full of debts, - said the leader of European Georgia, Davit Bakradze.

He said the government should have stimulated the economy by lowering taxes.

"The promise of maintaining prices, like many other promises made by the government, turned out to be a lie. The government should have done what European Georgia had offered in two directions. On the one hand, it was necessary to stimulate the economy, first of all, by reducing taxes, including the excise tax, which is a direct component of the rise in prices in this country. On the other hand, it should have better protected the population in terms of financial support, including by using the pension fund. These two components would have stimulated the economy and would have provided more assistance to the population.

Instead, the government chose an absolutely wrong path. He promised the population that it would spend money to maintain prices and we all saw that it failed and we now have expensive products, expensive life, vulnerable population and economy full of debts”, Davit Bakradze said.
