Carl Harzell: Thanks to the open market economy and international trade, Georgia will become richer and more successful

"We have been witnesses of solidarity in the fight against the COVID-19 in Georgia and as well as in Europe - I think that this is very important, a genuine achievement that I hope we preserve", - stated the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Carl Harzell.

As he noted, thanks to the open market economy and international trade, Georgia will become richer and more successful.

"We have been witnesses of solidarity in the fight against the COVID-19 in Georgia and as well as in Europe - I think that this is very important, a genuine achievement that I hope we preserve after the crisis. As for the experience gained, I concede that everyone worries about issues such as food safety, energy safety, etc,. while being in crisis, whether it is a pandemic or something else.

On the other hand, I believe that a small country like Georgia cannot be isolated and self-sufficient. Thanks to the open market economy and international trade, Georgia will become richer and more successful. We are helping Georgian companies to look for European and other markets because it enables the state and its citizens to export the production and increase their welfare - this wouldn't be possible in a closed economy", - stressed Carl Harzell.
