Giorgi Gakharia: I have become poorer in some sense and all officials should get used to the fact that if they decide to serve the state, their income will decrease

I have sold something, I have become poorer in some sense and all officials should get used to the fact that if they decide to serve the state, their income will decrease, - this is how Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia answered a question regarding his property declaration.

According to him, he filled in the property declaration in detail.

"The property declaration is an extremely important document that I filled out in detail. I have sold something, I have become poorer in some sense and all officials should get used to the fact that if they decide to serve the state, their income will decrease. Do you want me to start talking about my income in previous years?" - Gakharia noted.

To a question of whether he became poorer after 2015, Gakharia gave a positive answer.

"I have always been ready for this, because I serve this country. As for the question of whether the population has been impoverished or not, my answer is no. The population is in trouble, of course, and no one denies it. It is not moral when you ask such a question with a smile. This is immoral too. Nothing personal. Speculations about the poverty of the population is unacceptable to me," said Giorgi Gakharia.
