Irakli Gharibashvili: The present-day Army is different and way stronger than the one 10 years ago - we're working on ten-year National Defence Strategy

The present-day Army, in terms of its preparedness, is radically different and way stronger than the one 10 years ago, - stated Defence Minister Irakli Gharibashvili at the Parliament where he reports to within the "Ministerial Hour" format. According to him, a ten-year National Defence Strategy will be drafted that will serve as a long-term plan for the development of the Defence Forces.

"Today, I can dare to say that the present-day Army, in terms of its preparedness, is radically different and way stronger than the one 10 years ago. However, in order to consistently strengthen its effectiveness, a ten-year National Defence Strategy is being drafted by the Defence Forces. This will be a long-term plan for the development of the Defence Forces. The document will help to define the ways of mobilizing the whole country's resources and the roles of the Defence Forces and Government units withing the governmental coordinating efforts", - stated Gharibashvili.
