Police detains three individuals on suspicion of being connected to killing in Poti

Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department has detained three individuals accused of premeditated murder and illegally depriving someone else's liberty.

According to the statement made by the Department, the crime is punished by 7-15 years in prison.

The statement reads that the defendants with accompanying individuals have physically abused and wounded V.T., born in 1976, with razor-sharp tools and firearm after which they fleed the site. V.T. who was in an unconscious state was transported to the hospital where he passed away soon.

As the Police Department states, the additional operative-investigative activities continue in order to reveal more complicit individuals and pieces of evidence.

The investigation is ongoing under Articles 108 and 143 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to premeditated murder and illegally depriving someone else's liberty.
