Ministry of Internal Affairs releases statement on killing of woman by her husband

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has released a statement regarding the murder of a woman by her husband in Surami.

The 34-year-old man has been arrested. He pleaded guilty.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, they had not received any notification about a conflict between the spouses before the incident. Accordingly, no restraining order had been issued.

The investigation established that the accused man allegedly shot his wife dead and escaped.

The crime carries a maximum sentence of 13 to 17 years in prison.
