Georgian soldiers depart to Afghanistan

The combined company of Georgian Defence Forces I Infantry Brigade has departed to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in order to join a peace-keeping mission.

According to the Ministry of Defence, combined company will take part in the NATO RSM mission. Georgian soldiers, led by Major Anton Kutateladze, will secure the base in Kabul and will be tasked with force protection.

The I Infantry Brigade subunit will substitute II Infantry Brigade combined company. The members of the combined company had taken pre-deployment trainings before departure.
