Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has responded to the decision of Tornike Shengelia, captain of the Georgian basketball team, to play in CSKA Moscow.
"The decision of the captain of the Georgian national basketball team to play in CSKA Moscow is unfortunate and unacceptable to me, as the President of Georgia," Zourabichvili posted on her Facebook page.
CSKA Moscow signed a three-year contract with the Georgian basketball player. "I am happy to join the incumbent EuroLeague champion and look forward to playing together with a great team of basketball players and coaches. I hope that together with CSKA I will achieve a lot of success in EuroLeague and VTB league,” Tornike Shengelia was quoted as saying by the Russian club.
