Officers of Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained two persons: brother of one of the “thieves-in-law”, L.B. and criminal authority K.K. in Tbilisi. The mentioned individuals are accused of membership of the “thieves’ world” and illegal purchase-possession of firearm and drugs.

The detainees face 7-10 years in prison if convicted.

The investigation established that criminal authorities and members of the “thieves’ world”- L.B. and K.K. were fulfilling instructions of other “thieves-in-law”. Detainees extorted cash from citizens and entrepreneurs through intimidation, physical violence and the so-called criminal skirmishes.

During the search of L.B’s apartment, law enforcers seized “Makarov” pistol with 8 magazines. As a result of the personal search of K.K., police seized Heroin.

Investigation is in ongoing on the fact of membership of the “thieves’ world” and illegal purchase and possession of firearm and drugs.
