IRI: The patriarch enjoys the greatest support of the respondents

According to the results of the the International Republican Institute's survey, 89% of the respondents have favorable opinion towards the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. Following the Patriarch, Amiran Gamkrelidze enjoys the second biggest support rate with 74%.

In addition, according to the IRI survey, 63% of respondents have favorable opinion of Giorgi Gakharia, 57% - Kakha Kaladze, 53% - Davit Bakradze, 42% - Shalva Natelashvili, 41% - Bidzina Ivanishvili, 41% - Grigol Vashadze, 40% - Giorgi Vashadze, 37% - Davit Usupashvili, 36% - Nika Melia, 34% - Aleko Elisashvili, 34% - Archil Talakvadze, 32% - Gigi Ugulava, 32% - Salome Zurabishvili, 30% - Irakli Okruashvili, 28% - Irma Inashvili, 27% - Mamuka Khazaradze, 25% - Nino Burjanadze, 17% - Eka Beselia, 14% - Badri Japaridze, Zurab Girchi Japaridze - 13%.

The survey was conducted from June 4 to July 2, in the form of a direct survey throughout Georgia. According to the IRI, the fieldwork was carried out by the Institute of Polling & Marketing. The survey was coordinated by Dr. Rasa Alisauskiene of the public and market research company Baltic Surveys/The Gallup Organization on behalf of the Center for Insights in Survey Research. Field work was carried out by IPM. Data was collected across Georgia between June 4 and July 2, 2020 through face-to-face interviews at respondents’ homes. The sample consisted of 1,500 permanent residents of Georgia older than the age of 18 and eligible to vote. It is representative of the general population by age, gender, region and size of the settlement. The margin of error is +/- 2.5 percent, the response rate is 66 percent. The study was made possible by the support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development.
