Marina Ezugbaia: 9 out of 15 new cases of coronavirus have a history of travel to the epidemic zone

According to Marina Ezugbaia, Medical Director of Tbilisi Central Infectious Diseases Hospital, 9 out of 15 new cases of coronavirus have a history of travel to the epidemic zone, namely travel to Svaneti, 4 cases are contacts of previously confirmed cases, 1 is an imported case involving a truck driver, while the source of the 1 new patient is being established.

"The number of recoveries has increased by only three and became 1088. According to these data, 216 patients are being treated in the COVID centers today. The distribution of these 216 patients by severity is as follows: yesterday we had 7 critical patients, the condition of one patient has improved and he is now considered as severe patient, so the number of critical patients dropped to 6 while the number of severe patients stands at 19. Fortunately, the condition of these patients is stable meaning that the disease progression is not observed with them and perhaps the prognosis should also be optimistic", - stated Ezugbaia.
