Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed that Turkey has discovered a large reserve of natural gas in the Black Sea, - reports local media.

"Turkey has discovered the largest natural gas reserves in the history of the country in the Black Sea", - stated Erdogan.

According to him, energy resources are of great importance for the country's independence.

"Apart from the fact that energy resources are an essential element of development, they are also very important for national independence", - noted the Turkish President.

As Erdogan clarified, the newly discovered reserves include 320 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
