German government: French and Swedish laboratories have confirmed that Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a nerve agent similar to "Novichok"

The fact that Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny was poisoned with a nerve agent similar to Navalny "Novichok" was also confirmed by special laboratories in France and Sweden, - reported the spokesman of the German government, Stefan Siebert.

"We are renewing our call for Russia to explain itself. Furthermore, we are in close consultation with our European partners on further steps", - Siebert said.

For the record, Alexei Navalny, who was placed in the clinic in Omsk on August 20 after feeling unwell on a plane, was taken to a clinic in Berlin on August 22 at the request of relatives. Later on, the German government announced that Navalny had been poisoned with a Novichok-type nerve agent. Russia denies any connection to Navalny poisoning.
