According to the Deputy Minister of Health, there is no widespread transmission of coronavirus from Adjara to other regions

According to the Deputy Minister of Health, Tamar Gabunia, there is no widespread transmission of coronavirus from Adjara to other regions. As Gabunia told reporters, the increase in cases in Batumi is not geometric progression and the situation is stabilizing.

"The increase in cases is mainly at the expense of Batumi. The indicator of a favorable prognosis is that the cases in Batumi doesn't increase with geometric progression and usually amounts to 2 or 3. I returned from Batumi yesterday. The situation there is close to stabilization and we think we will have a better prognosis in the short term from the Adjara region. As for the general population, there was some increase in Imereti as well. We do not have a picture of widespread transmission of infection from Adjara to other regions. Thus, our main strategy is aimed at Batumi and to stabilization of cases", - Gabunia said.
