UN Secretary-General calls on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict parties to immediately stop fighting and resume negotiations

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has responded to the escalation of the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone.

According to a statement on the UN official website, the Secretary-General is "extremely concerned about the resumption of hostilities along the line of contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone."

Guterres condemns the use of force and expresses concern over the deaths of civilians. The UN Secretary-General strongly urges the parties to immediately cease hostilities, defuse tensions and resume negotiations.

Antonio Guterres expressed his full support for the role played by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs and called on the parties to work closely with them to resume dialogue without any preconditions.
