Iveri Melashvili and Natalia Ilychova, who stand accused of acts committed against the territories of Georgia, have been sent to pre-trial detention custody.
The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, in cooperation with the State Security Service, detained Iveri Melashvili, Head of the Border Relations Service of the Department of Neighboring States of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, and Natalia Ilychova, Chief Inspector of the Border Protection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia two days ago.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the defendants were guided in the delimitation process by the boundary lines drawn on maps issued in 1970-80, which is essentially contrary to the historical border of our country, including in relation to Davit Gareji.
