Archil Talakvadze: We are ready to organize flights and take all safety measures for transportation, so that the observers can work

"Our priority was to have all kinds of safe conditions in order to involve as many observation missions as possible in the parliamentary election process in Georgia", - Speaker of the Parliament, Archil Talakvadze told reporters.

As Talakvadze pointed out, it is in the interest of the country that the elections be assessed by as many parties as possible.

"It is in the interest of us and our country that these democratic elections be assessed by as many parties as possible. That is why we have sent official invitations and letters to all international organizations. I have also contacted the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In addition, our main strategic partner - the United States is also involved. We will have international observers and Georgia's democratic progress will be demonstrated. We are ready to organize flights, we are ready to take all safety measures for transportation, so that the observers can work", - said Archil Talakvadze.

At the same time, Talakvadze once again calls on the supporters not to resort to provocations.

"We have carried out fundamental democratic reforms to hold free and transparent elections. This is the position of the whole team and we call on all supporters not to engage in any provocation and not to respond to violence with violence. Violence is punishable by law and it will not be tolerated. We have high support across the country - it varies from 54 to 64% in different regions. Therefore, we are confident that we will win a fair, peaceful and free elections. People who are not sure about this are trying to prevent it with violence, but there will be a response", - Talakvadze said.
