State to spend 1.1 billion GEL on assistance to businesses and population

According to Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, the portfolio of targeted assistance to businesses and population will cost 1.1 billion GEL.

As the Prime Minister noted at the briefing held at the Governmental Administration, this is the least that can be done today.

"The portfolio of the fourth wave of assistance, both targeted social assistance and business assistance will cost the state 1 billion 100 million GEL. We understand that this is the least we can do today. In addition, we have a legal basis for the formal implementation of these restrictions till 1 January. As you know, the health law is valid until January 1, the budget needs also to be approved, and I am sure that after the new parliament convenes, we will be able to do all this quickly and easily.

This is a two-month plan that should stabilize the spread of the infection in the country and maintain the potential for rapid economic growth that we had in the spring. All international organizations confirm that Georgia has potential for rapid post-crisis economic recovery," - said Giorgi Gakharia.
