State to assist self-employed persons with 300 GEL

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, the 300 GEL assistance program for self-employed persons will be restored. In addition, the state will help the self-employed to defer the loan.

As Giorgi Gakharia said after the meeting of the Interagency Council of the Government, the registration of people who are informally employed has already started and about 120,000 beneficiaries will benefit from this program.

"We are introducing the same kind of targeted social assistance that we had for the self-employed during the first wave - 300 GEL. We have already started registering these people and in addition to this 300 GEL assistance, we undertake that the state will help each person to defer their loans. 300,000 people benefited from 300 GEL assistance during the first wave. Currently, this field is narrowed and we think that there will be somewhere between 100-120,000 beneficiaries," - said Giorgi Gakharia.

According to the Prime Minister, the assistance program will also be launched for 6 months from January 1 for people who have lost their jobs and they will receive a total of 1200 GEL in 6 months.
