MIA solves the case of murder in Zugdidi

The officers of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate investigative and operative activities solved the case of premeditated murder. For the mentioned crime R.P. (DoB 1998) has been detained, - reports the Ministry on Internal Affairs.

According to the MIA, the crime envisages from 7 to 15 years of imprisonment.

"Investigation established that in Zugdidi, after the conflict based on vengeance, detainee inflicted lethal injuries to a man born in 1983 with a cold steel. After the incident, in order to conceal the traces of crime, detainee set fire to the crime place and fled. The Ministry of Internal Affairs received report on fire in one of the residential buildings located in Zugdidi. Law enforcers who arrived at the site found V.V. (DoB 1983) who was already dead. According to preliminary inspection, no other injuries were found on the body. As a result of immediate investigative and operative activities, the offender was taken under arrest several hours later after the crime. The weapon of crime- knife was seized as evidence. Detainee has already pleaded guilty. Investigation is in progress on the fact of premeditated murder, article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia", - reads the statement.
