Public Registry registers Ioseb Tkemaladze as the president of the Rugby Union

The Public Registry has registered Ioseb Tkemaladze as the president of the Rugby Union. According to the Rugby Union, Tkemaladze will start performing his duties from today.

On February 24, the Rugby Union presidential election was postponed due to no quorum. Repeat elections were held on March 10 and 25 subjects registered for it, in total 42 (out of 74) voted for Ioseb Tkemaladze as a presidential candidate.

Ioseb Tkemaladze was elected President of the Rugby Union at the congress held on March 10. At the same time, it should be noted that Irakli Abuseridze won the elections held on December 30 last year, but the public registry did not register him as president. Supporters of Irakli Abuseridze deem this election as illegitimate and believe that the president has already been elected and he is Irakli Abuseridze.
