There was tension at the entrance of the Batumi City Council building

There was tension at the entrance of the Batumi City Council building. Citizens and law enforcers confronted each other. Citizens say that they have questions with the Batumi City Council, in particular, about the transfer of a four-hectare beach to one of the hotels on the boulevard for 15 years, and also about the construction of high-rise buildings in the cultural heritage zone.

Physical confrontations between citizens and law enforcement officers took place several times. Members of the faction "United National Movement" of the Batumi City Council came to the protesters.

Members of the United National Movement say the session is public and citizens must attend. They said that due to the absence of citizens at the session, their rights are being violated. Due to the tension, one of the citizens was taken away by the law enforcers from building.

Batumi City Council session was stopped because of the tension. Protesters and law enforcers remain in the building.
