Ministry of Internal Affairs detains another person for the murder of Davit Saralidze

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained another person, Giorgi Menabde, for the murder of Davit Saralidze.

“The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative and investigative activities detained G.M. (DoB 2001) on the basis of the relevant decision of Tbilisi City Court and petition applied by the General Prosecutor’s office. The aforementioned person was detained for premeditated murder committed by the group on purpose, under aggravating circumstances against an under aged person.

The committed crime envisages from 13 to 17 years of imprisonment.

Within the framework of the ongoing investigation, it was established that the detainee, together with G.J. and M.K. had inflicted injuries to an under aged person - Davit Saralidze in a group, with a sharp object and an intent to kill.

Davit Saralidze died on December 2, 2017 due to the sustained injuries.

The investigation is in progress on the fact premeditated murder committed by the group on purpose, under aggravating circumstances against an under aged person, crime envisaged under the article 109, II part, sub-paragraphs “B” and “E” of the Criminal Code of Georgia”, reads the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
