A special operation is underway in the Avlabari district of Tbilisi, where an armed attack broke into the Bank of Georgia.

Numerous law enforcers are mobilized on the spot.

How many people have been taken hostage is still unknown. Neither the Ministry of Internal Affairs nor the Bank of Georgia has made any comment on the above.

"I cannot tell you anything about the details. The safety of both our employees and our customers is important and we will do our best for their safety," Bank of Georgia told InterPressNews.
