I want to thank the opposition for what they are doing. I believe in them, - Giorgi Rurua, one of the shareholders of the Mtavari TV told journalists after leaving the prison.
"I spent a year and a half in prison for nothing. I do not know why, it was a false charge, it has been proven and it is clear to everyone - I am no longer going to talk in a smug way, let's look ahead and work to bring the country out of this crisis. I want to thank the opposition for what they are doing. I believe in them and we should support them", - said Giorgi Rurua, who also thanked foreign partners, the ombudsman's office, the non-governmental sector and Georgian journalists.
For reference, the release of Giorgi Rurua from custody was part of an agreement reached between the government and the opposition with the participation of mediators. Today, part of the opposition, which signed the document of mediator Charles Michel, registered in Parliament. Accordingly, the President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili signed an act of pardon of Giorgi Rurua.
