Nika Melia thanks Carl Hartzell, Charles Michel, Kelly Degnan and Žygimantas Pavilionis

I want with a release all prisoners, regardless of the sentence they are serving in prison, - Nika Melia, the leader of the United National Movement, said after leaving the prison.

According to him, there are many political prisoners in the prison.

"Every person makes a mistake in life. Many prisoners in all prisons in Georgia are watching this now and I wish them early release and return to their families, regardless of whether they are imprisoned on political grounds or not. However, there are a lot of political prisoners in this prison, and I wish them a release", - Melia said.

The leader of the "National Movement" thanked the international partners and ambassadors for their contribution to his release.

"I would also like to thank you, all the supporters, who want stability in the country - not stagnant stability, but stability within normal life. I would like to thank, of course, EU Ambassador Carl Hartzell for the efforts and diligence in this process. I thank him as a diplomat and as a person. This has its reasons why I emphasize his professionalism as well. Naturally, thanks goes to President Michel for his contribution to this important process. I thank the Ambassador of the United States of America.

However, I would like to give special thanks to Žygimantas Pavilionis, the Chairman of the Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Committee, that is the person who has awakened the international community without exaggeration. When I had the hardest time in many ways, he flew from Lithuania to Georgia and came to the UNM headquarters to show solidarity, and after that he worked hard to get the right reaction from the international community after February 23rd. If not Mr. Pavilionis, I do not think this result will be as it is, I mean international responses", - Melia said.
