Aslan Bzhania: Return of IDPs had been raised by the Georgian side, but now this issue is closed

In our country, Georgians live mainly in the Gali district, about 45 thousand people live there. Most of them do not have Abkhazian citizenship. I would like to remind you that the issue of return of IDPs was once raised by the Georgian side, but now this issue is closed, - so-called President Aslan Bzhania stated in the Russian edition Arguments and Facts.

According to him, "an agreement on non-use of force has not been signed between Georgia and Abkhazia."

"They do not recognize us, they do not see Abkhazia as a state. Consequently, we have no interstate contact. We have only the Geneva format with the participation of Russia. I would like to emphasize that we are not going to discuss the state status of Abkhazia with either Georgia or anyone else. People decide this, Abkhazia is an independent state and this issue is closed forever," Bzhania said.
