A government session was held in the Government Administration headed by the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili. According to the government administration, the Cabinet of Ministers discussed 11 issues on the agenda.
By the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, a governmental commission was established to develop and implement the "Georgian state strategy for de-occupation and peaceful conflict resolution". Within the framework of the government commission, a working group will be set up, which by the end of the year, with the involvement of the general public, will develop an inclusive and comprehensive state strategy. The commission and working group will be chaired and coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The purpose of the government commission is to create a common national process, within the framework of which a unified state approach and a strategic vision for the de-occupation of the country, unification and peaceful settlement of the conflict will be developed. The process will involve government agencies and institutions, as well as civil society - research centers, NGOs, experts, people affected by the conflict and the general public.
By the end of the year, a number of meetings, dialogues, discussions, and consultations will be held, both at the inter-agency level and with the involvement of civil society, in order to develop a state vision for a peaceful and united Georgia tomorrow as part of a common national process.
At the same time, an intensive work process will be conducted with Georgia's strategic partners in order to bring the process of de-occupation and peaceful settlement of the conflict into active action with the proactive and effective involvement of the international community.
