43,200 doses of AstraZeneca arrive in  Tbilisi

43,200 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced by a Swedish-British company has arrived at Tbilisi International Airport this morning, - the Ministry of Health reports.

According to the agency, AstraZeneca can be vaccinated for those who could not get the second dose due to certain shortcomings, as well as for people who registered for the first dose.

AstraZeneca has been authorized by the World Health Organization for emergency use.

People aged 45 and over can be vaccinated with AstraZeneca. The vaccine will be available to those who have not been able to get the second dose due to certain deficiencies, as well as people who have registered for the first dose.

“The World Health Organization, public health agencies and qualified doctors are recommending vaccination against COVID-19,” reads the statement released by the Ministry.
