Zaza Gakheladze: I did not really expect that to happen. Thanks to God, thanks to our patriarch and our government, everything ended well

I did not expect to be released today, Zaza Gakheladze said after being released from the custody of the occupation regime.

"I'm fine. I did not really expect that to happen. Thanks to God, thanks to our patriarch and our government, everything ended well," Gakheladze said.

Zaza Gakheladze crossed the so-called border in Ergneti a few minutes ago, where he was met by Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili and Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri.

33-year-old Gakheladze was illegally detained by the representatives of the occupation regime on July 11 last year in the vicinity of Skhvilo Fortress in Kaspi Municipality. During the arrest, the so-called guards wounded Gakheladze in the leg, after which they illegally detained him. On February 5, the so-called court sentenced Zaza Gakheladze to 12 years and 6 months in prison.
