Giorgi Tsaruashvili, accused of assaulting cameraman of the Public Broadcaster Ilia Tvaliashvili during the rally against Tbilisi Pride, was sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of restraint.
The decision was announced by the judge of Tbilisi City Court Giorgi Gelashvili.
At today's trial, the prosecution demanded imprisonment as a measure of restraint against the detainee, while the defense demanded Tsaruashvili to be released on 7,000 GEL bail.
At the court hearing, the prosecutor's office pointed to the nature of the possible crime committed by the accused and noted that Tsaruashvili could hide, influence witnesses and destroy evidence.
