500,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine arrive in Tbilisi

500,000 doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Tbilisi last night. The above is a gift from the United States Government to the people of Georgia.

Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze and Ambassador of the United States of America to Georgia Kelly Degnan greeted the plane at the Tbilisi International Airport.

For reference, by the decision of the US government and directly by President Biden, several hundred thousand doses of Pfizer vaccine were donated to Georgia a few weeks ago.

On June 3, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that the United States would share vaccine with partner Georgia as part of a commitment to donate 80 million doses of America’s own vaccine supply to help end the global pandemic.
