Georgia receives 15 thousand doses of AstraZeneca as gift from Lithuania

Georgia received 15 thousand doses of AstraZeneca as a gift from Lithuania. The vaccines arrived at Tbilisi Airport on July 24.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the delivery of the vaccine was attended the Tbilisi International Airport by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Deputy Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia.

According to the decision of the Lithuanian government, vaccines against Covid-19 have been allocated to three Eastern Partnership member states - Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Davit Zalkaliani, thanked the Government of Lithuania for the vaccines via social media.

"15 000 doses of AstraZeneca Vaccine, allocated by the Lithuanian government, have been delivered to Tbilisi. A huge thank you to my colleague Landsbergis and all those involved in this process for their firm support and timely aid!!" he tweeted.
