Due to the protest of the writers, the literary competition "Litera" will no longer be held this year

Due to the protest of the writers, the literary competition "Litera" will not be held this year. Writers' House spreads information about it.

According to them, based on the personal statements of publishers and authors, 92 books out of 110 were withdrawn from the competition. In addition, four members of the jury selected by the Writers' House refused to work. In the current situation, the "Writers' House" considers it impossible to hold a competition this year.

Literary Prize "Litera" was established in 2015 with the initiative of the "Writers' House" and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection. The prize is annual and is awarded in 6 nominations.

For the record, writers protested against "Litera" competition after the Ministry of Culture introduced its own representative in the jury.
