Aslan Bzhania: Agreement on granting dual citizenship will be signed with Russia soon

The agreement on dual citizenship with Russia, which provides for the simplified granting of Russian citizenship to the "citizens" of occupied Abkhazia, will be signed soon. According to Sputnik, Aslan Bzhania, the de facto president of occupied Abkhazia, told journalists about it.

"This year, an accord was reached to sign an international agreement, which will be the basis for Abkhaz citizens to obtain Russian citizenship. It also determines the legal status of persons who have dual citizenship. The agreement is ready. It has been agreed between Russia and Abkhazia and it will be signed in the near future", - Bzhania said.

Bzhania did not name a specific date.
