Dmitry Medoev says “South Ossetia” may demand extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili

Occupied South Ossetia may demand the extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili, who was detained in Georgia, - the so-called South Ossetian "Foreign Minister" Dmitry Medoev was quoted as saying by Russian media.

“South Ossetia has the right to demand the extradition of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to the place where the crime was committed. I mean the crimes of 2004 and 2008, which are considered crimes under the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide," Medoev said.

According to him, "in case Saakashvili is extradited from Georgia", he will face a fair trial.
