The so-called foreign ministry of occupied Abkhazia responds to Salome Zurabishvili

The de facto ministry of foreign affairs of occupied Abkhazia is responding to a statement by Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who said during an official visit to Austria that the EU Monitoring Mission should be allowed to move in Abkhazia region to de-escalate the situation.

The de facto agency stated that legal order is maintained in Abkhazia, all "state" institutions are functioning.

According to them, it is obvious that the "republic" does not feel the need for any kind of de-escalation.

The so-called ministry also said that with such statements, Salome Zurabishvili apparently decided to remind the international community of the problem of the occupied territories.

According to them, according to the 2008 agreement between the presidents of Russia and France, the EU monitoring mandate provides only for monitoring in the zone "bordering" Abkhazia and in no way implies monitoring the territory of the "republic".

"The Georgian government is trying to justify the admission of the EU Monitoring Mission in Abkhazia, follows the way of blatant misinformation and claims that this measure will serve to de-escalate the situation", - the so-called ministry said in the statement.

According to them, such an approach of the Georgian government misleads the Western partners and deprives "two countries" of the possibility of civil and equal dialogue between them.
