The only candidate in the presidential elections of the Georgian Basketball Federation, which will be held tomorrow at 13:00, is Viktor Sanikidze, a member of the Georgian Dream.

Former president of the federation Paata Guraspaul and Viktor Sanikidze held a joint briefing in the federation on December 8, where Guraspaul announced his resignation.

According to Paata Guraspaul, this decision is the result of joint thinking and they will bring more benefits to basketball together than separately.

According to him, the full membership of the National Basketball Federation remains in the service of basketball and will continue to work to make basketball even more successful.

According to Viktor Sanikidze, there will be no controversy in Georgian basketball, which is confirmed by the joint decision made by the candidates.

Also, thank you once again for the unprecedented support of the state, which we all witnessed together, that so much investment is being made in Georgian basketball. When I registered as a candidate, I immediately stated, emphasized and promised that there will be no confrontation in Georgian basketball, we are one team and we serve our country and basketball. This is a confirmation that we continue to develop basketball and the country. Therefore, I thank Paata for his work and as he noted, I am fully ready to cooperate with the current federation and we must do good deeds together," said Victor Sanikidze.
