"Unfortunately, we do not have preconditions for optimism yet," Giga Bokeria, Chairman of European Georgia, told reporters, responding to remarks made by Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili.
As Bokeria pointed out, instead of words, we should judge by actions.
"Unfortunately, we do not have preconditions for optimism yet. If it turns out that those in power are ready to act and stop the catastrophic course that Ivanishvili and his people have, we will only be happy. We are not against discussion, including with a bitter political opponent who sees us as an enemy. However, I am not going to participate in some simulations, because it is a strange sequence, first to announce it on a forum abroad, then to plan some ceremony and to think about what the process might be. it should have been the other way around, it would have been more normal.
The expectation of the free world - if we want its membership, what the Ivanishvili regime does not want - is that the judiciary will be free, there will be no violence, no political persecution, there will be the rule of law - that is their order.
When I hear a statement that you should use every chance, of course, it's true a trivial truth. But if there is any precondition for this to be a simulation or a decoration, then participating in it will, on the contrary, distance us from the task," Bokeria said.
