Sergey Ryabkov: The US side took Russia's proposals seriously - we explained that we have no plans to attack Ukraine

The United States took Russia's proposals for security guarantees very seriously - they studied these proposals in depth, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told reporters after today's Russia-US talks in Geneva.

"We have the impression that the American side took Russia's proposals very seriously and studied on them in depth," he said.

According to Ryabkov, regarding security guarantees, "the conversation with the United States was difficult, long and very professional, at which time there was no attempt to avoid difficult issues."

According to him, the Russian side said during the discussion that Russia has no intention to attack Ukraine.

"We have explained to our colleagues that we have no plans to attack Ukraine and we can not have any, and all measures for the combat training of troops are carried out within our national territory. There is no reason to worry about an escalation scenario in this regard," the Deputy Minister said.
