The National Agency of State Property has released information regarding the transfer of 1,500 sq.m. of plot of land and a building located on it to Rustaveli Theatre Director Robert Sturua for a symbolic price - GEL 1.
As the agency explains, the mentioned decision was preceded by the petition of Shota Rustaveli National Theater.
According to the agency, Robert Sturua is one of the greatest artists of modern times and thus no one should question the expediency of the decision made by the Georgian government. According to the National Agency of State Property, the above was an appreciation of the work of the famous Georgian director and his merits by the Georgian state.
"The decision to transfer the plot of land and the building located on it at a symbolic price of 1 GEL was preceded by the petition of the Shota Rustaveli National Theater to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
The petition mentioned the great merit of Mr. Robert Sturua before the theatrical art of Georgia and our country in general. According to the letter, the Rustaveli Theater petitioned to transfer the land to the famous director at a symbolic price to build a house.
The Ministry studied and submitted to the Government of Georgia a proposal for the transfer of a plot of land to Robert Sturua at a symbolic price, which was positively decided taking into account the merits of the famous director”, reads the statement.
