Elene Khoshtaria: Specific demands include - Irakli Gharibashvili should go and take the government with him, we should close the sky to Russia and to open it for Ukraine, Georgia should submit an application for EU membership

Elene Khoshtaria, the leader of Droa, voiced demands at a rally in support of Ukraine on Rustaveli Avenue, which she said were agreed upon by parties and public groups.

The rally demands: Irakli Gharibashvili to resign, Georgia to close the sky to Russia and open it for Ukraine, as well as the country to apply for EU membership.

"We passed the test of honor on the very first day of the war. The public came out, none of the politicians pushed their agenda. We take into account the different attitudes and approaches of the society, but we can not take into account the betrayal, we will not tolerate and we will prove that Georgia is not a traitor country.

It turned out that solidarity alone is not enough, they crossed the line of betrayal in our country, they told us that we will not support Ukraine and added that they will not apply for EU membership, they told us that they will take away our country's historic choice. We are people who love dignity and freedom, which we are showing to Gharibashvili and the Georgian Dream. Therefore, all parties and public groups have agreed that we need to formulate specific demands, which we all here demand and will surely achieve.

First, Irakli Gharibashvili should go and take the government with him, they should get away from here. Georgian Dream does not represent us, therefore, the first demand is for him to leave, and the shame he has inflicted on Georgia, our history and future, is ours to wash off; he must go, he must no longer represent our worthy people.

We must then move on to action and concrete steps to help Ukraine and actually show solidarity with them. Let's close the sky to Russia, open the sky to Ukraine.

Thirdly, today Ukraine, with its sacrifice that has been making us cry all for five nights, has opened up opportunities for us all to become part of a free Europe, and this opportunity that our ancestors dreamed of is on the table today. These fools say that they don't want it. Therefore, our request is for Georgia to apply for EU membership as soon as they leave.

No one has a magic wand, but we have faith that by standing together we will achieve all three of these demands. We will take responsibility, we will not give up, we will not get tired and we will liberate this country," Elene Khoshtaria said.
