According to the Ministry, the compliance and financial audit conducted by the internal audit department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth of Georgia covers the period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020.
As a result of the audit, facts of spending financial resources in violation of the law by the Film Center was revealed, in addition to serious shortcomings in the financial management system of the Film Center, systematic basis of violations of Georgian procurement legislation, facts of alleged nepotism, lack of control system, etc.
Due to the above-mentioned circumstances, Gaga Chkheidze, director of the LEPL National Center of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia, was fired, and the audit report on his activities was sent to the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia for further response. In addition, the audit department conducts an official inspection in connection with a number of circumstances indicated in the report.
