People have been coming to Georgia for the last few days only because of Saakashvili’s issue, and not because I am a superman, but because I am Putin's personal captive and Georgia should be not imprisoning Putin's personal captive during this global war, former President Mikheil Saakashvili said in a speech.
According to him, it is a century-old shame what is happening between Georgia and Ukraine today.
"Everyone knows why they are prosecuting me, they are prosecuting me for not surrendering to Russia and not handing over Georgia. I am a personal captive of Putin and this was said by influential representatives of the European Parliament. In recent days, if anyone comes to Georgia, they come because of my topic - they come here only because of the issue of Saakashvili, not because I am a superman, because I am a personal captive of Putin and Georgia should not be imprisoning the captive of Putin during this global war. It is a shame.
I want to tell every person who considers himself a Georgian - this is a century-old shame what is happening between Georgia and Ukraine and what is happening to me. Friends, wake up, we have a few weeks to get rid of this shame with national consolidation, unity, strength, calm and firmness.
When we were in power, the budget has increased 12 times. I should not be sitting here, I know how to increase the budget, I know how to stop inflation, I know how to create jobs, I know how to increase revenue.
The time of reconstruction will soon be back, but by no means should we allow our enemy to achieve what it failed to do in 2008. If this happens, the Georgian nation will disappear," Saakashvili said.
