Anatoly Bibilov: We understand that there will be a second round - elections were conducted in accordance with laws

So-called president of "South Ossetia" Anatoly Bibilov states that it is expected that a "second round of elections" will be held in the so-called republic, in which he will face the leader of the opposition political party, Alan Gagloev.

"We understand that there will be a second round. Elections were conducted in accordance with laws. There will probably be a second round. It all happens because we acted within the law. Of course, I am very happy to go to the second round with Alan Gagloev. The choice is up to the people. Whoever the people vote for will become the president," Bibilov said.

He says he is not afraid of challenges and is ready to fight.

"I accept challenges with dignity, I am ready to fight, the main thing is to remain calm," he said.

The so-called presidential elections were held in the occupied Tskhinvali region yesterday. The candidates in the so-called elections were the following: the incumbent de facto president Anatoly Bibilov; Alexander Pliev, "vice-speaker" of the so-called parliament; Alan Gagloev, leader of the Nikhas political party; Gary Muldarov, member of "parliament"; and Dmitry Tasoev, former member of "parliament".
