Kelly Degnan urges the government to take the Public Defender's recommendations seriously

US Ambassador to Georgia, Kelly Degnan, urges the government to take the Public Defender's recommendations seriously.

As Kelly Degnan noted, the authorities have always been urged to provide adequate medical treatment to Saakashvili.

"I understand there are increased concerns regarding Saakashvili's health condition. The US is advocating that he receives the appropriate medical care, and he is seen and treated by qualified medical professionals. This is the basic human right, and this is what we are calling for. I saw the Penitentiary Service comments that they are providing medical care some of which Mr Saakashvili, as they say, he refuses. We urge the government to take the Public Defender's recommendations seriously, to carefully consider the recommendations," Degnan stated.
